Hero Xtreme 160R engine troubles

A friend in India had engine trouble with his Hero Xtreme 160R, the oil kept dropping, a clinking noise started, and the repair quote came to ₹23,000 (about $275). He's had it nearly 3 years with just 15,000 km on it. Despite that,I think it's a solid bike and I really hope Hero enters the U.S. market soon

Well, I would mind it especially with such low mileage. But still, the Xtreme 160R seems like a very durable machine overall. And yeah, I also hope Hero enters the US asap.

Exactly! Even with that issue, it's held up pretty well, stuff happens, but the bike's still great. Hero could do really well here with the right pricing and support.

I hope it's not a common issue with that engine, but of course if Hero enters US, I am buying it

Honestly, probably a long shot for them to land in the US market anytime soon for gas bikes.
The rules here are way different, setting up dealerships is a nightmare, and they'd be up against all the big players. They're crushing it in other parts of the world, which is their main focus. Maybe their electric stuff down the road, but for the regular bikes, I wouldn't hold my breath
